About meRobin J Bloomfield

I am a Web Designer / Developer experienced in the design and management of websites. I have a passion for web development and enjoy my work.

I have used a variety of web languages, tools, systems and platforms on a range of projects, including blogs, microsites, intranets and HTML newsletters.

Experience

I am experienced in using HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery. I have worked with sites using XML, PHP, MySQL, Java and Python.

I am familiar with Content Management Systems (including bespoke systems, WordPress and SharePoint 2010).

I have attended training courses on CSS (intermediate and advanced), web accessibility, web usability and writing for the web.

I keep up to date with web design trends, techniques and developments by reading .NET Magazine and websites, including Sitepoint, Smashing Magazine and A List Apart.

Tools

I am familiar working on both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems and experienced using the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Dreamweaver and Fireworks).

Other web development tools I use include XAMPP, Notepad++ and Firebug.

Interests

In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching TV, going to the cinema and listening to music. My favourite genre is science fiction.

For the last 2 years I have participated in Movember, helping raise funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.
